Easy CBD Milk Tea Gelato

This ice-cold CBD infused desert will melt away your stress! The summer sun is heating things up and nows a better time then any to enjoy some tasty scoops! This grown-up ice cream recipe will make you feel like a kid again and is the perfect way to zhuzh up the classic summertime dessert. 

To make this special treat, you will need the following eight ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 tbsp (about five bags) ground vivify CBD infused black tea leaves 
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup mochiko flour (do not substitute)
  • 2 tsp flavorless powdered gelatin
  • small pinch of salt
  • 1 1/4 cup evaporated milk

Step one:

Cut open your Vivify tea bags and use stone and pestle (or spice grinder) to grind the leaves until they are coarsely ground. This will maximize the flavor.  

Step two:

combine 1 cup whole milk (reserve 1/2 of a cup), water, and the black tea leaves into a pot and bring them to a bare simmer stirring for 5 five minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the mixture cool for an additional 5 minutes.

Step three:

Use a cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a new pot and then discard the tea grounds. In the new pot, which contains the strained mixture whisk in the granulated sugar sticky rice flour, powdered gelatin, and salt until lump-free. 

Step four:

Heat the mixture over medium-low and whisk continuously. When you notice the mixture thicken and start to bubble, remove it from the heat and mix in the evaporated milk and 1/2 cup of whole milk. Wisk by hand or use a blender until the milk tea mixture is completely smooth and lump-free. 

Step five:

pour your CBD milk tea gelato mixture into a container and place it in the freezer for about an hour (or longer if you wish), stir it once or twice until it is cold.

Step six:

Churn the mixture into gelato according to your ice cream maker’s instruction. And freeze for another 3 hours until hardened. 

Step seven:

You may want to remove your ice cream from the freezer five minutes before serving to allow it to soften. You can top the ice cream with a shot of espresso or a drizzle of brown sugar syrup (see instructions for this in our post about CBD bubble tea)!
